Workout of the Day

What an inspirational day. Memorial Day Murph has been a tradition of ours for the last 8 years and it has always been powerful. While I was trudging through my last mile today I was thinking about how most of us are never going to experience the level of honor, integrity and grit that these brave men exhibited on that fateful afternoon in June 2005. It is just so far out of our level of understanding. After a few minutes of thought I realized that these men did not just decide on that day to be that way. Michael Murphy was a great man, his death simply allowed his story to be shared with the world. Today he represents all of those who have done the same. The defining moment of their lives were not the last few spent in the pit of war. Their worth has been built over a lifetime. They were defined by their actions, relationships and words. Simple everyday tasks done with purpose and intent. Relationships forged out of unbreakable trust, love and honor. As we remember these men today and how they were taken from their families and friends, let's also learn from the legacy built over a lifetime. Thanks to everyone who shared in this day, in Gig Harbor and all over the world. - Coach Mike
